The following is quoted from e-mails dated
February 2000 from Jacqueline Quig Burg (JQB) of Florence, NJ. JQB is the
daughter of John Wallace Quig and granddaughter of Edward Albert and Mary
Hoffner Quig.
"My father
brought over a family bible he had in his possession. My dad said he got the
bible from Alice Quig after Ed died, so it may be the one Aunt Jess had. It is
very old about 4 inches thick. On the cover is ornately engraved Hamlet H.
& Anna R. Berry. Inside it says a gift from my pop December 15, 1875.
Apparently this was given to Emma LaClair."

Hesselholt states, “Robert moved with his step-mother Lillie Tindell Quig to
Idaho and Robert died in the late 1940’s.”
John Edward Quig was married to Lilly M.
TINDELL (daughter of Samuel Watson TINDELL SR and Elizabeth AMES) in 1901.
Lilly was born JUL 30 1875 in Jacksonboro, TN. Lilly moved to Idaho sometime
after John’s death. Lilly died in 1963.

William BRELSFORD and Mary UNKNOWN) in 1913. Ward BRELSFORD was born on
MAY 21 1891 in NJ. He died in JUL 1971 in Burlington, NJ.
JQB states:
" I knew Aunt
Jess (Brelsford) when she was alive. She was in the Masonic Home in Burlington,
NJ before she died so her house was cleaned out. I heard she gave a lot to the
neighbors. There was a neighbor named Lorraine she was close to and she gave
her many hummels. She had a large collection. I was not involved in any of this
so I don't really know and I don't think the neighbors were interested in
family papers.
Ed and Jess were
sort of on the outs. He went to visit her in the Masonic Home and I heard she
told him not to visit her. But they both were stubborn and he said he will
visit her anyway."

5. Edward Albert QUIG was born on MAR
30 1897 in Burlington, NJ. He died in FEB 13 1978 in VA. Edward is buried at Beverly National
Cemetery, Burlington County, NJ.
Anna Quig Gray (AQG) states:
“I don't know how
far Dad went in school. I know he didn't graduate. The story goes that Lilly
put him on a labor farm when he was 13. I think. He lied about his age and went
into the Army. After two years, mostly overseas, he worked several different
jobs. He worked at a weaving mill when I was very young. He was a sexton at a
church in Philadelphia, PA and he also worked as a yard-man for many people in
and around Beverly, Yardley, Riverside, etc. He worked as a Security Guard at
the Dade County Community College in Miami, FL until he retired and moved to
Virginia.”
He was married to Mary L. HOFFNER (daughter
of Wallace M. HOFFNER and Carrie A. UNKNOWN). Mary L. HOFFNER was born
MAR 9, 1899 in NJ. She died MAR 29,
1988 in NJ. Mary and Edward eventually
divorced.

WORRELL was born on AUG 7 1924 in PA. She died on DEC 25 1990. She is
buried in Beverly National Cemetery, Burlington County, NJ.
AQG states:
“Mom graduated when
she was 16 and worked at Woolworth's in Trenton, NJ. I think. She worked
different places until she met and married Dad. She was a Stanley Home products
dealer for 25 years and became a district manager in the Philadelphia, PA
area. When we moved to Miami she worked
at an auto appraiser’s office doing everything from billing to payroll.
Mom and Dad came to
visit us in Virginia and they liked it. Mom went on disability just before
coming to Virginia, due to real bad arthritis in her hands. Once in Virginia,
neither of them worked.”
JQB states:
"At Ed's
funeral in Beverly, NJ (Veterans Cemetery) a friend brought his sister, Jess to
the cemetery, but she did not get out of the car. I talked to her and she
recognized me. My grandmother, Mary Quig, Ed's first wife was there and his
sons Jack and Bob. Also there, from his second marriage, Carl and Bill. Ed was
cremated in Virginia and buried in Beverly National Cemetery, Burlington County,
NJ."
Anna Quig Gray (AQG states:
“I was at Daddy’s
funeral, with my kids and my husband. We were living in Germany at the time.
Daddy was to be the best man at my brother Bill’s wedding, February 18, 1978.
Because of the expense, we had not planned to fly home for Bill’s wedding, but
since Daddy died just a few days before, we were able to attend Bill’s wedding
and my husband stood in as best man.”
Alice had a son named Carl from a previous
relationship. Edward adopted Carl.
Edward Albert QUIG and Alice WORRELL had the

7. Frances C. QUIG was born JAN 19
1908 in NJ. She died SEP 5 1999 in Castleford, Twin Falls, Idaho.
According to the archived papers of Samuel
Watson Tindell, SR at Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, TN, Frances wrote
“America’s Pastime” in 1930. Samuel Watson Tindell was both a professor at and
president of the Carson-Newman College.
Frances was a 1928 graduate from Albertson
College of Idaho, Caldwell, ID.
She was married to Earl E. Elliott on
DEC 2 1932 in Caldrell, Boise County, ID.
The marriage was brief and ended in divorce.
Frances was married to Soren Conrad
HESSELHOLT (son of Mads Larsen HESSELHOLT and Ana Mathilde CHRISTENSEN) in
1940. Soren Conrad HESSELHOLT was
born NOV 30 1895 in Skagen, Hjorring, Denmark.
He died JAN 1960 in Idaho.
Frances C. QUIG and Soren Conrad HESSELHOLT
