         Evolution of Maps and Memories 
     Idea was first conceived by Ed McCausland, Wash High Class of 1953.  He and his brother spent 3 hours, one Sunday Afternoon, trying toreconstruct in their own minds, what "Uptown" Washington used to look like. 
     I had asked a question about store fronts at Christmas time, that offered such wonderful animated displays, back in 1930's and 40's when we were children.
               Ed sent me the jpg file that you see below. Hand drawn Dec 1999.

Many familiar names show up such as Aras Rest, State and Washington and Capital Theaters and
of course you can see the dome of the Court House off in the distance.
