s/o Clair John "Bill" & Frances Mae HALBERSTADT THOMPSON. Enlisted (volunteered) into the United States Air Force at Detroit, MI April 5, 1966. Honorably discharged at Travis AFB, CA Nov 11, 1969. Rank: SGT. Served as F4E (fighter/bomber) Weapons Control System (radar) Mechanic, 388th (AMS) Tactical Fighter Wing (PACAF), during the Vietnam War (68-69), at Korat Royal Thai AFB, Korat, Thailand. Medals/Ribbons:
Vietnam Service Medal w/1 bss, AF Good Conduct Medal, AF Outstanding Unit
Award, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Marksmanship
Biography: After discharge, attended Ferris State College, Big Rapids, MI on the GI Bill and obtained a B.S. degree, Business Administration. Married Susie Mae PLUMLEE September 13, 1983 (divorced 1989). Children: Rebecca Frances THOMPSON b. September 24, 1983, Detroit, Wayne Co., MI and Clair John "Bill" THOMPSON b. January 20, 1985, Berwyn, Cook Co., IL. |
