The issues of Christmas have long been disputed
For many a sundry reason
Whether religion or history or whatever thought
It still is a glorious season
The truth is in fact that it wouldn't exist
Had it not been for the birth of a child
Who brought to the earth those long years ago
The promise of a life undefiled
The Story of Mary , the shepherds and kings
The angels all singing above
Bring to our hearts a marvelous hope
As it tells of a story of love
And if we would celebrate Christmas at all ,
We must not omit from the season
It still is the birthday of Jesus the child
And His message still is the reason
So celebrate Christmas with Santa and toys
With candles and holly and fun
And share with friends and family and all
But remember He is the one
He is the reason that we can have joy
He is the reason we're here
He is the reason that we celebrate
He is the source of our cheer.
He brought the first gift - the gift of new life
And peace and goodwill to all men
Our gifts are tokens as to others we give
Of love given over again
