| Text from Source: | What Can I Find in the Ohio, 1958-2000 Database? In this index of over 3.1 million deaths between 1958 and 2000 in Ohio, you'll find additional information like place of residence, location at time of death, death date, age at time of death, birth date, race, educational level, and father's name. Note that deaths occurring in 1978 are currently missing from this index. Use the information from this database to record details about your ancestor. In addition, information in this database may provide enough details for you to obtain a death certificate, which can provide additional information, like the full name of the parents, and the name of the informant who noted your death (who may be a relative). Once you locate a record in an index, send for a copy of the original, as it can provide additional information useful to your research. Ancestry.com's "Order Original Record" link is one helpful way to order the death record.
