Krawiec Family Memories

Barbara Gromniak Frazier had these recollections about two of her Krawiec Uncles recorded in December 2000:

John Kravitz:

I remember visiting him in while he lived in Washington, DC .....I guess I was about 10 years old. The memory is very vivid because it was my first time to visit the Smithsonian Museum. I have the vague remembrance that John worked as a carpenter.   Late in life, he worked as a handyman in an apartment complex where he lived.  I feel quite certain he died in Washington DC. He bought the house on Coal Street for his parents.

Joseph Kravitz:

As long as I can remember he lived in Philadelphia and died there. I think he worked some kind of factory job. Again, I am thinking he may have been a plumber in the Philadelphia Naval Shipyards.  I don't think he ever married.   He had chronic stomach problems to the extent that part of his stomach had to be removed. His closest family relationships were with his brother Frank in Baltimore and with Aunt Helen. He always stayed with Helen when he visited home. During one particular health crises (stomach surgery), I remember my mother Anna and Aunt Helen going to Philadelphia to be near him and offer support.
