Steamship Princess Irene

Built by the A/G Vulcan Shipyard, Stettin, 1900. 10881 tons, 540 ft long.  Steam quadruple expansion engine, twin screw, Passengers (268 first class, 132 second class, 1954  third class).  Built for North German Lloyd Line, Germany in 1890 and named PRINCESS IRENE.  Interned at New York during WW1.  Later sold to U.S. Shipping Board and renamed USS POCOHONTAS.  Resold back to North German Lloyd Line and named BREMEN.  Renamed KARLSRUHE in 1928. Scrapped in 1932.
