Leon Wesley Waggoner, 73, Arkansas City, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Leon was born Dec. 14, 1933, in Blackwell, Okla., to Floyd S. Waggoner and Bernice L. (Allbaugh) Waggoner. He attended Tonkawa schools. On March 20, 1954, he married Nancy M. Wentworth in Newkirk, and the couple made their home in Arkansas City. Leon worked construction and electrical engineering for various companies including, Brown and Root, Litwin and Boeing.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy M. Waggoner of the home; children, Steven L. Waggoner, of Colorado, Springs, Colo., Mary L. Quiram and husband, Keith, of Ponca City, Teri L. Head and husband, Mike, of San Antonio, Texas, David L. Waggoner and wife, Rebecca, of Arkansas City, Leon W. Waggoner Jr. and wife, Karolyn, of Yutan, Neb., Chris R. Waggoner and wife, Kelli, of Arkansas City; sister, Janice E. Keefe and husband, Ralph, of Arkansas City; grandchildren, Leann J. Waggoner, Kip Quiram, Whitney A. Quiram, Garret M. Waggoner, Andrew R. Waggoner, Laura E. Waggoner, Krystal C. Waggoner, Geoffrey M. Waggoner, Victoria K. Waggoner, Angela S. Waggoner and Miranda F. Waggoner. Leon was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials have been established with Autism Society of Heartland or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.
