For fifty years you were always there
Making sure you helped with your share.
While working in the flower bed
I turned around and again no Ted.
No one to move the ladder or caution me
Not to fall or hurt my knee.
Flowers not getting their early drink
Cause you will is what I still think.
So many things I have yet to learn
I really won't find you at any turn.
None of your daily chores get done
Now not two of us but only one.
The word one has such a lonesome sound
What grief means is what I have found.
